Coronado Island to Bahia Concepcion

We left Coronado Island early since we had nearly 60 nm to cover. We motored a lot of it but eventually we were sailing in 20 knots with big enough waves - maybe 3 feet. It was enough that we changed course so we weren’t so side on and rolly.

We went through a few pods of dolphins - i think the fish dolphin. It was strange to see because from a distance, it actually looked like a wake. THen you could start to see it wasn’t, then they were gone! They were moving - we followed them once or twice and they were going faster than we could. They were jumping like crazy too! Very cool to see.

We found what seems to be a wonderful anchorage, just south of the point, and directly across from Mulege. We have amazing phone coverage, it’s pretty protected from south to east and north at least. And it looks like plenty of good snorkeling is available. Not to mention the white sand beaches.

We had our first thunderstorm last night. It wasn’t much but we did have lightening with some thunder and a brief shower. We prepared for an elephantes just in case!
